1. Seller and scope

The provider of the "PaperMind" service ("we", "us") is:
Jonathan Gorstka, Germany
Email: papermindsupport@gmail.com

These terms govern your use of PaperMind (the "Service"), a web application that lets users upload PDF documents and use AI to create summaries and ask questions about their content.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old or have your legal guardian's consent.

3. The Service

PaperMind allows you to upload PDFs, automatically receive a summary and chat with the content. The Free plan allows 5 PDFs in total; the Premium plan has no fixed limit (fair use applies).

4. Pricing, payment and reseller (Paddle)

Premium costs €9 per month (incl. applicable taxes). Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's buyer terms also apply: paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.

Premium subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time effective at the end of the current billing period via papermindsupport@gmail.com or through Paddle at paddle.net.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:

6. AI content / accuracy notice

PaperMind uses AI models. Generated summaries and answers may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. They do not replace professional advice (legal, medical, financial, etc.). You are responsible for reviewing and using the outputs. You are responsible for your prompts and uploads and for holding the necessary rights to the content you upload. Upon a legitimate rights-holder complaint we will remove the affected content and may suspend repeat-infringer accounts.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including software, design, logos and trademarks, is owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within your plan. You grant us only the rights to your content necessary to provide the Service (store, process, display).

8. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, updates and third-party outages may affect availability.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated/serious violations of our policies.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for ordinary negligence is limited to typical, foreseeable damage. Liability for intent, gross negligence, personal injury and under the Product Liability Act is unaffected. Indirect or consequential damages are excluded to the extent permitted by law.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms (e.g. for legal changes or product updates) with at least 30 days' notice by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
